Week 12: Track? What Track?

Ok, so here's another update! At this point I may just abandon all pretense of ever posting on a regular basis. I still do the daily drawings, but getting these things scanned in and posted is actually pretty time-consuming (and not particularly exciting). Although this post represents week 12 of the challenge, I'm actually a good six months behind on posting. I think I'll just have to focus on the most important part of the challenge, which is doing the daily drawings, regardless of how often I am able to post them.

So, with that in mind, I'll see you next time! (Whenever that is...)

Kid Hercules Week 11 - Getting Back on Track

OK, so I'm slowly but surely getting myself back on a more regular posting routine. This week's batch is probably my Best Week Ever in that there are a lot more scenes of Kid Hercules interacting with other characters, which makes for a nice change from just Kid Hercules by himself. Vidya, the lovely lab assistant to Dr. Finkenstein, makes another appearance as does our mysterious iron-clad villain. Enjoy!

Week 10: I'm Still Doing This!

Whew! It's been over a month since my last post, but fear not! I have been diligently drawing Kid Hercules daily (I'm actually on day 141 as I write this) and will do my best to get back on track with regular weekly posts.

Turns out there are many aspects to this type of challenge that are almost impossible to anticipate ahead of time. Running out of ideas is the first major obstacle I encountered. (Seems like I had so many when I started...) Thankfully, Pinterest came to the rescue and has provided me with a wealth of inspiration from the greats- Jack Kirby, Bruce Timm, Jeff Smith and many more.

I have been doubly thankful since during these past few months I was also incredibly busy and by the time it came for to do my daily Kid Hercules drawing, I was pretty glazed. Knowing that I could just log on to Pinterest and find a great reference helped me stay in the game at time when I probably would've had to quit.

So if you think you've seen some of these images somewhere else before, you probably have!

Week 9: Earth-Shattering Ka-Boom!

OK, so here I am more than two months into my 365 challenge. This week we get to see a new Orbling, Big Baby, presenting Kid Hercules with a real P.R. difficulty: how to subdue a giant baby without hitting it?

We also get our first look at Dr Finkenstein's lovely lab assistant, Vidya. Finally, Kid Hercules is treated to his first Earth-shattering ka-boom!

Week 8: 50th Drawing!

This week marks a mini-milestone in my 365 challenge: reaching my 50th drawing! With Man of Steel in theaters, I decided to pay homage to the old Max Fleicher Superman cartoons. This week also marks the debut of Dr. Finkensein's robotic legs, as well as the debut of another character- Big Baby!

365 Challenge: Week 6!

Here's a little more Dr. Finkenstein along with our mysterious robo-armored enemy. More new characters on the way, including Dr. Finkenstein's lovely lab assistant and the Unbelievably Big Baby!

Kid Hercules 365 Challenge: Week 5!

So here I am five weeks into my 365 challenge and it's definitely starting to become a little more difficult coming up with interesting poses for Kid Hercules. I've been collecting inspirational images on Pinterest to help me out in that department, so if any of my drawings seem familiar to you, that's probably why!

Also, this week marks the debut of a major character in the Kid Hercules Universe: The Astonishing Dr. Finkenstein! I'll be doing more images with him and other characters in the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned!
